2012 Assessments Past Due

The $250.00 Assessment for 2012 was due on January 1.  If you have not already mailed in your payment, you need to do so as soon as possible to prevent the need for further action.  Be reminded that any Assessment not paid within 30 days of the due date is subject to collection per the Enforcement Provisions found in Article VI, Section 2 of the Association Documents.

Reminder letters — and more drastic measures — divert Association funds from more positive uses.  If you’ve already sent in your assessment, our sincere thanks for your prompt action.  If not, you can mail your payment to:

Magnolia Lakes Development HOA
C/O Space Coast Property Management

Be sure and include your name and address on your check.

The Board of Directors will be hosting our first monthly Fireside Chat on Saturday January 7, 2012.  Bring your questions or comments to this informal gathering, or just come to socialize with your neighbors.

Please provide your own seating.  Feel free to bring along some marshmallows or similar fireside snacks.  Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

In the event of rain, the chat will be moved to 1/14/2012.

Election Results

The results were as expected.  With 9 positions to fill, and only 5 volunteers to fill them, all 5 candidates were elected to serve another term.

Charlotte Rose:  President
Steve Cotellesse:  Secretary & Treasurer
Nick Fiorello:  Director
Bill Cook: Director
Martin Cook: Director

This year, only 68 voters sent in ballots.  This was barely enough to establish the  quorum for the annual meeting.  Two or three more apathetic home owners–two or three fewer votes– and the board would have had to reschedule the meeting.  Notices, proxys and ballots would need to be reprinted and mailed to each property owner.

We need you all to get motivated and take a serious interest in the community.  The current board continues to serve–at least in part–because there is nobody else.  If we don’t keep the officers positions filled, the State will take over running Magnolia Lakes, and they will not do so for free.

We need volunteers for the Architectural Review Committee and the Fines and Appeals Committee.  So step up!
